Bookkeeping/Office Administration Certificate Requirements

I. English, Social Science, Science, Mathematics, Arts And Sciences,
Unrestricted Electives, Physical Education (Not Required For This Certificate)

Although there is no specific English or mathematics requirement for this certificate, students must take the English and mathematics assessments. In order to graduate, they must be assessed at ENG 101 (or higher) and MAT 101 (or higher) or receive a passing grade in the required English Skills or pre-MAT 101 course(s).

 

II. Humanities (3 Credits Required)

PHL 260 Ethics in Business (3 cr)

 

III. Concentration Area (27 - 28 Credits Required )

OFT 112* Word Processing Applications (3 cr)
OFT 108 Workplace Communications (3 cr)
OFT/MGT 111 Spreadsheet and Database Management (3 cr)
BKG 101 Bookkeeping I (3 cr)
BKG 102 Bookkeeping II p (3 cr)
BUS 101 Intro to Business or BUS 215 E-Commerce (3 cr)
MGT 219 Administrative Office Management (3 cr)
OFT 207 Advanced Word Processing Applications p (3 cr) or OFT/Bus 208 Presentation Software: Powerpoint (3 cr)
INT 270 International Business Practice Firm or OFT 102 Office Technologies Procedures p (3 - 4 cr)

*Students must demonstrate typing speed of 20 words per minute with no more than one error or must register for: OFT 912 Computer Keyboarding (0 - 1 cr)

Total: 30 - 32 credits

 

NOTE: Students must consult with a faculty advisor in the Office Technologies Discipline each semester to plan their course of study.
