I. English (6 Credits Required)

ENG 101 English Composition I (3 cr)
ENG 102 English Composition II (3 cr)

 

II. Social Science (9 Credits Required)

PDA 101 Pluralism and Diversity in America (3 cr)
PSY 103 General Psychology (3 cr)
PSY 191 Life Span Development (3 cr)

 

III. Mathematics (Not Required For This Degree)

NOTE: Although there is no specific mathematics requirement for this degree, students must take the mathematics assessment. They must be assessed at MAT 101 (or higher) OR receive a passing grade in the required Math skills course(s) and must demonstrate competency in the Mathematics needed for clinical calculations.


IV. Science (15 Credits Required)

BIO 110 Anatomy and Physiology I (4 cr)
BIO 111 Anatomy and Physiology II p (4 cr)
BIO 207 Microbiology p (4 cr)
CHM 105 Principles of General and Biological Chemistry (3 cr)

Grade of C or higher is required in all Science courses

*It is recommended that students take CHM 105 before or with BIO 110.

VII. Unrestricted Electives (3 Credits Required)

Select any credit courses except Physical Education.

NUR 111 Nursing Process IA (3.5 cr)
NUR 113 Nursing Process IB (3.5 cr)
NUR 141 Nursing Process IIA (3.5 cr)
NUR 142 Nursing Process IIB (3.5 cr)
NUR 231 Nursing Process IIIA (4 cr)
NUR 232 Nursing Process IIIB (4 cr)
NUR 241 Nursing Process IVA (4 cr)
NUR 242 Nursing Process IVB (4 cr)
NUR 106 Principles of Drug Administration and Therapy (1 cr)
NUR 149 NCLEX Review (0 cr)

Students who have challenge, transfer or life experience credit for Nursing Process IA must take NUR 110 - Using Nursing Process (2 cr) and NUR 206 - Physical Assessment (3 cr).

Students who have not successfully demonstrated competency in Calculation for Pharmacology are required to take NUR 103

 

IX. Physical Education (3 Credits Required)

Any PED course(s)
REC 205: Community CPR & First Aid
REC 207: CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Note: PED courses earn Pass/Fail grades; REC courses earn letter grades.

 

Total: 67 credits

 

*Prerequisites and/or corequisites are required for all Nursing process courses.

 

NOTE: Students accepted into the Nursing Process sequence must consult with a faculty adviser in the Nursing Discipline each semester to plan their course of study.

If you intend to transfer to a four-year college, you should seek advisement as soon as possible. Faculty advisers in the academic disciplines or counselors in the Student Development Center can help you choose the appropriate courses. You should also consult the catalog and the admissions office of the four-year college to which you intend to transfer.
