Women Health Issues


This course will allow students to explore current health issues that are of special interest or unique to woman today. Topics to be discussed include societal/environmental/lifestyle factors that influence women health today. An in-depth discussion on wellness measures that may prevent illness in the female population. Common illnesses seen in women will be investigated and guidelines for preventing illness while promoting wellness will be explored. Issues of stress management, sexuality, menopause, violence and their psychological impact are some of the key topics discussed.


Prerequisite: NUR 111, NUR 113, and Nursing students in the Honor’s Program.
