Computer Applications in Accounting

4 hours, 4 credits. Prerequisite: ACC 101. An elective course with in-depth, hands-on study of accounting and spreadsheet software packages to process accounting transactions and to analyze financial and managerial accounting problems. Emphasis is placed on learning the accountants use of and the suitability of the following types of software. A general ledger program. A spreadsheet program. Use of the Internet to understand present value concepts
