The Physical Education discipline offers a wide variety of courses to meet the fitness and course needs for all Rockland's student population. From fitness counseling to Tai Chi, the department offers many opportunities for students to stay fit and develop skills that can be used in later life. Fitness courses include weight training, aerobics, and slimnastics. Students who are interested in outdoor education can select skiing, and back packing.
Mission of the Physical Education Department
Since the opening of Rockland Community College, the Physical Education Department has fostered a program that promotes fitness, health and wellness. The goal of the department is to implement a life-long learning process and the opportunity for students to participate in a variety of physical activity classes on a consistent basis.
