Entrepreneurial Business Plan Competition

 
 

The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Rockland County Chapter and the Rockland Community College, Business Department will co-host a competition for area high school students and college students, in two separate categories. The schools will establish teams who will develop a business plan and Power Point presentation for a business that the team believes would be successful in Rockland County. The competition will be held at Rockland Community College with teams making presentations in two rounds.

 

Judges will base their decisions upon a prescribed set of criteria as outlined in the New York State Small Business Development Center, “A Practical Guide to Preparing Your Business Plan”. Judges may be members of the college and business community.The event will end with a special guest speaker, presentation of awards, and lunch.

 

Abstract and Team Member Information Deadline: Friday, October 1, 2010

Final Presentation Due: Monday, November 29, 2010

  • Teams must submit an abstract (no more than 50 words) of their plan
  • Members of the team and school official contact information

Snowdate: December 10, 2010

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Length of Power Point Presentation: 15 minutes
Length of Typewritten Plan: Maximum of 10 pages, single space, 10 or 12 point font
Location: Rockland Community College Technology Center
