Joe Famellette will be the first RCC coach to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He is entering his 50th year as a teacher at the College. From 1960-1982, Mr. Famellette coached various sports including soccer, wrestling, bowling, golf, tennis, and women's basketball. He coached the Men's Tennis team for 16 years and compiled a 103-33-3 record. Over the years, Coach Famellette produced over a dozen NJCAA All-Americans in several sports, and eight men's tennis teams qualified for National Tournaments. Joe also started the women's tennis program in 1979 and guided them to an undefeated season in 1981.
Mike Landau '67, Soccer
Mike Landau earned NJCAA All-American status for his superior play on the soccer field in 1966. He also was named to the All-Mid Hudson Conference team the same year. A Spring Valley High School graduate, Landau was recognized on the All-County soccer squad. He returned to RCC for the 1985 season and, after the season, was drafted in the second round. He reported the Kansas City Royals' Northwest League affiliate in Eugene, Oregon in the summer of 1985. Chuck Todd '85, Baseball
A power-hitting catcher, Chuck Todd played alongside Pete Carey most of his life. Thus, it is ironic that both were members of the same 1984 Mid Hudson Conference Championship team and both were drafted by professional baseball organizations in 1985. Todd, batted .409 with 36 RBI in 37 games in 1984. In 1985, he was named to the Mid Hudson Conference “Player-of-the-Year”. Following his sophomore season, Todd was drafted in the tenth round and played two seasons for the Cleveland Indians organization. Also a North Rockland product, Chuck began coaching after his playing career finished. He returned to RCC as an assistant coach for five years. Beginning in 2007, he worked as an assistant coach for Iona College. And most recently, he was appointed head baseball coach at SUNY Ulster County Community College.
