AIDS Memorial Quilt

Thursday, October 22, 2009 – Saturday, October 24, 2009
Eugene Levy Fieldhouse

In recognition of TOUCH (Together Our Unity Can Heal) twenty years of HIV/AIDS support services to our neighbors, TOUCH and RCC will be co-sponsoring a display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. Sections of the internationally celebrated AIDS Memorial Quilt honoring 91,000 individuals lost to AIDS will be displayed.

The AIDS Memorial Quilt celebrates the lives of real people who were loved and lost to HIV/AIDS.  They are each remembered on a stretch of fabric called a panel. The goal of the quilt is to provide a creative means for remembrance and healing, to effectively illustrate the enormity of the AIDS pandemic, to increase awareness of HIV and AIDS throughout the general public, to assist others in providing education on the prevention of HIV infection, and to raise funds for community-based AIDS Service Organizations (ASO's)

In conjunction with TOUCH (Together Our Unity Can Heal)
