Committee: African American History Month
Purpose: To plan and celebrate the contributions and achievements of African Americans to our society

Committee: Annual College Night Committee
Purpose: Works along with Rockland County guidance counselors in preparation for this yearly event. Dates, times, clean up, set up, and RCC involvement are typical meeting subjects.

Committee: Art on Campus
Purpose: To review proposals, including bequests, concerning permanent acquisitions of art for the college.

Committee: Asian/Pacific Island Heritage Month
Purpose: To plan and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Asian Americans to our society

Committee: Black Achievement
Purpose: To recognize the achievements of elementary and secondary school students in private and public schools in the county in a yearly awards ceremony.

Purpose: To develop a center for excellence in teaching and learning

Committee: Commencement
Purpose: To create pride in RCC faculty, students and their parents, recognize student accomplishments and reward academic achievement and student involvement.

Committee: Drug Awareness Day
Purpose: Campus and Community members collaborate to provide an annual county-wide Drug Awareness Day event for High School students. Approximately 250 young people, grade 9 and 10 (representing thirteen school districts of Rockland County), attend educational workshops and an assembly presentation. Students will increase knowledge and increase positive behavioral and/or social skills.

Committee: Haitian Week – Open House
Purpose: To promote the Haitian culture through various mediums such as film, dance, an art exhibition and music. In addition we hold an annual volleyball tournament and food festival.
  • To promote the Haitian identity and to educate the college community
  • To promote diversity on campus
Haitian day is also a recruitment tool as high school students are invited to our activities. The feeder high schools participate with between two and three hundred students each year. We also receive invitation requests from many local elementary school teachers.

Committee: Hispanic Achievement Awards
Purpose: To recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of our Hispanic/Latino students

Committee: Hispanic Heritage Month
Purpose: To support, encourage and honor the present and past contributions of Hispanics and Latinos to society

Committee: Holocaust Remembrance
Purpose:  To present programs pertaining to the Holocaust and related issues to the College and the community.

Committee: Irish Culture
Purpose: To plan and celebrate the contributions and achievements of the Irish to American culture and education.

Committee: Jewish Heritage Week
Purpose:  To present programs that highlight Jewish heritage

Committee: New Student Orientation Committee
Purpose: To familiarize new students with the policies/procedures of the college, and to serve as an introduction to the campus services as well as to the faculty and staff.

Committee: Open House
Purpose: This Committee works to prepare for Youthfest/Open House to show case the college for recruitment/publicity. The committee designates representatives and delegates duties.
