Committee: Assessment & Placement Task Force
Purpose: The purpose of the task force is to deal with issues related to testing, policies, procedures, etc.

Committee: Cafeteria/Bookstore Committee
Purpose: Serves as a liaison between the college community and the Cafeterias’ management. Pricing, menu items, and special requests (Kosher food, vegetarian, health foods etc.) are usually dealt with.

Committee: Campus Emergency Response Team
Purpose: Prepare for, respond to, and recover from a campus emergency that cannot be managed by routine measures or resources.

Committee: Campus Fun & Learn Center Board
Purpose: To set policy and to support the funding and philosophy for a child care center on campus, which serves the dual purpose of being a learning resource for students and a family facility for children of students.

Committee: Committee on Disability
Purpose: To provide an advisory group to the Office of Disability Services. This committee assists the Office with issues of reasonable accommodations, communicates and interprets office policies and procedures to academic departments, and assists with design and implementation of its annual developmental workshop.

Committee: Facilities Planning
Purpose: Update the 1995 Master Plan confirming proposed projects or modifying plan based on current facility needs and academic program master planning.

Members: A Steering Committee and Sub-Committee will be organized when funding is provided to the College.
 
Committee: Grants Working Group:
Purpose: To meet once a month to discuss matters related to grants funded projects.

Committee: Healthy Campus Community Advisory Council
Purpose: A campus/community coalition approach to provide ongoing assessment of student needs related to alcohol and other drug prevention. The HCCAC addresses Underage Drinking through a shared responsibility of campus and community partners. Emphasis is placed on utilizing state-of-the-art research based strategies aimed at correcting misperceptions that encourage inappropriate behaviors associated with abuse of alcohol and other substances.

Committee: Humanities Curriculum Committee
Purpose: Ensures that all Humanities Division courses adhere to college policies and to SUNY mandates. Our mission is to know what we teach, why we teach it, and how. This committee looks for academic integrity, non-duplication of course material, and maximum transferability to other institutions.
This committee advises faculty with developing the Learning Activities Proposal [LAP] required for each course, whether the course is new, revised, or provisional. Upon approval of the LAP, the committee disseminates the new or substantially revised LAP to faculty campus-wide, to inform and to elicit feedback.

Committee: International Student Scholarship Committee
Purpose: To award scholarships to students traveling overseas during Winter session and Summer

Committee: Multicultural Underrepresented Student Success Advisory Board
Purpose: To address some of the major issues that affect the retention, graduation, and transfer of multicultural underrepresented students

Committee: Planning Committee
Purpose: The committee will be involved in both long term and short term planning efforts. Each year, the committee will review the college-wide plans developed by academic and administrative departments and recommend final prioritization of plans to the President. This process will be closely linked to the college’s budgeting cycle. The committee will also be responsible for reviewing long range strategic plans developed by the College Vice Presidents, and recommending them for adoption by the President. These plans will include specific assessment methods and will serve as the basis for focused college action over the next three to five years.

Committee: Retention Committee
Purpose: The Retention Committee is charged with identifying retention efforts and programs associated with the Divisions of Academic Affairs and Student Development.Utilizing the marketing plan as a guide, review the strategies on retention and develop a priority list of strategies that will be worked on for the 2007-08 year. Establish institutional benchmarks and goals for retention efforts at the College. Outcome assessment will be critical in measuring the success of the campus’ retention efforts.
Initial Goal: Research and compile College-wide retention efforts. Review relevant student retention data. Explore best practices at similar institutions.

Committee: Safety Committee
Purpose: To adopt, implement, and monitor the ongoing college-wide safety program

Committee: Scholarship Committee
Purpose: To conduct the annual review of applications, faculty recommendations and academic records of students who may qualify for certain scholarships and to select award recipients. To design & edit the RCC Foundation Scholarship Booklet and to produce the Honors Convocation where student awardees are honored.

Committee: S.T.A.R.S. Board
Purpose: To meet the unique needs and special interests of adults returning to school.through individual appointments, pre-enrollment sessions, as well as workshops and seminars to address special adult academic, personal and career development issues.

Committee: Student Health Advisory Committee - Charges and Responsibilities
Purpose: Evaluate and recommend changes in the RCC program of health services, based on the best interests of the student body.  Promote good health throughout the College community.  Establish a student health insurance policy and program. Establish a health service referral office.  Solicit outside organizations that provide free health related activities on campus.  Pursue the creation of a SUNY Rockland Office of Student Health Services.  Develop a survey for students to identify what they view as needs of a student health service office and to inquire if they support fully or partially funding through Student Government Association fees.  Develop an educational program that seeks to inform students of both the merits of health insurance and the various plans available to them.  Provide a delivery system to provide emergency first aid in the advent of an accident, injury, or acute illness, or to provide for prompt and prudent referral and utilization of available community health resources, both private and public, where needed and appropriate.  Develop a three-year budget plan that identifies funding sources to support personnel, services, and programs-funding sources may include, but are not limited to state funds, grants, student health fees, student government assistance or fee-based services.

Committee: Tuition Refund Appeal Committee
Purpose: To review the merit of student requests for tuition refunds during any given semester, but not later than one year after the end of the semester/session in which the course(s) were taken. Upon review of the student’s request and supporting documentation, a recommendation is made on whether to grant a complete, partial or no refund of the tuition and/or fees. The committee is comprised of staff members from the Student Development Center, Financial Aid, Records, & Business offices, and the Faculty. It is chaired by a member of the Student Development Center. Final decisions are then rendered by the Dean of Student Personnel Services.
