Vice President of Academic Affairs Appointed

SUNY Rockland Community College Appoints Vice President of Academic Affairs

 

 

Ramapo, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College has appointed Susan Deer, Ph.D., to the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs.

 

Dr. Deer of White Plains is responsible for providing overall leadership to the Academic Affairs division, implementation and management of educational policy, curriculum development, academic scheduling and programming, academic program review, and accreditation matters. Since 2008, Deer served as Dean of Instruction at the College and was responsible for program planning, evaluation and administration in the instructional division. From 1983-2008, she worked for Orange County Community College, Middletown, as a Full Professor in the Department in Human Movement, an Associate Vice President for the Health Professions, Athletic Director and Union President of the Staff and Chair Association.

 

Deer holds a Ph.D. in Education from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN, a Master of Science degree in Biophysical Focus of Human Movement, with a concentration in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology, from East Stroudsburg University, PA, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from SUNY Brockport, and an Associate in Art from Orange County Community College, Middletown.

 

Deer will hold the position of Acting Vice President of Academic Affairs until September 1.
