Veterans Invited to Pre-Enrollment Workshop at SUNY Rockland Community College
Suffern, NY - The Veterans Support Services Committee of SUNY Rockland Community College is hosting a Pre-Enrollment Workshop for veterans on Monday, November 10, 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Student Union Building (3114). A light dinner will be served.
The Pre-Enrollment Workshop is intended for veterans thinking of enrolling at SUNY Rockland. Information will be given about Admissions, Financial Aid, and Veterans Benefits. Current students who are Veterans will be on hand to address questions.
The College has recently expanded its services to student veterans or their eligible family members.
Veterans considering enrolling can meet with an RCC Veterans Counselor who will identify all the federal and/or New York State educational benefits for which they may qualify. The counselor also guides them through the application process for those benefits, advises them about the related academic requirements and assists students in the resolution of problems associated with obtaining their benefits.
Among its other services, the Veterans Office plans to include campus veterans support groups to further enhance the transition process.
Veterans can enroll at the College either full- or part-time. SUNY Rockland offers the veteran the flexibility of evening, weekend and online courses as well as a nationally acclaimed honors program whose graduates transfer to Ivy League and other outstanding colleges.
For more information, contact Elissa Silverstein, Veterans Counselor, at 845-574-4403 or esilvers@sunyrockland.edu or visit: www.sunyrockland.edu/go/veterans.
