Two Instructors Appointed to Tenure Track Faculty Positions

 

Two Instructors Appointed to Tenure Track Faculty Positions
of SUNY Rockland Community College

 

Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College appointed two faculty members to tenure track positions effective Fall '09 semester.

 

Cheryl Anne Ferguson of Nyack was appointed Instructor of English Skills. Since 2006, Ferguson was an adjunct faculty member at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI, teaching the course, Teaching Reading and Writing in the Content Areas. Also, since 2008, she was an adjunct at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, MI, teaching Developmental Reading for the Non-Native Speaker, Basic Reading and Developmental College Reading, and since 2009, also served as an adjunct at Baker College, Flint, MI, teaching developmental composition. She is currently an active member of the National Writing Project.

 

Ferguson earned a Master of Arts degree in Reading and a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Literature at Eastern Michigan University.

 

David Lucander of Gardiner was appointed Instructor of Pluralism & Diversity in America. Since 2007, Lucander was a Teaching Associate at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where he taught Introduction to African American History and Multicultural American History. From 2004-2006, Lucander was a Teaching Assistant at University of Massachusetts in Amherst where he taught Introduction to African American History, 1619-1954; The Minority Experience in United State History; and Introduction to Africa.

 

Lucander earned a Master of Arts degree in Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Arts degree in United States History from Westfield State College in Westfield, MA.
