Trustee Richard Kohlhausen Reappointed to the Rockland Community College Board by Governor David Paterson
Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College Trustee Richard L. Kohlhausen of South Nyack has been reappointed by Governor David Paterson for a term to expire on June 30, 2013. He has served for three years, completing the term of a prior trustee who relocated out of the area.
"Trustee Kohlhausen has contributed a great deal to the College throughout his tenure as trustee, and we are very pleased with his reappointment," said Dr. Cliff L. Wood, President.
Mr. Kohlhausen also serves on the board of Nyack Hospital, and formerly served as president of the Nyack school board and as a member of the board of the Edwin Gould Academy in Ramapo.
"I am certainly honored to be reappointed by the Governor's Office to serve as a trustee for Rockland Community College. I am grateful to those who had confidence in my efforts and vigorously supported my reappointment. I assure you of my commitment to public education and my energy as a trustee of 'our' community college."
A West Virginia native, Kohlhausen moved to Rockland more than 30 years ago. He has worked as a chemical engineer in the pharmaceutical industry, and now works in the insurance industry for Capitol Risk Management Services, Ltd, in Nanuet. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from NYU and an MBA from Iona.
Rockland Community College, a unit of the State University of New York, is located 25 miles northwest of NYC. The majority of its students transfer to four-year colleges, and many find immediate employment upon earning their associate's degree or certificate. The College also offers others, from preschoolers to senior citizens, the opportunity to simply learn something new. Quality education...at a price you can afford.
