Located on the north parking lot, Rockland Community College, Suffern

The Director will be on hand to answer questions, give tours, and explain the program.

The Center will be open year round from the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing only for major holidays. Children will be involved in a variety of learning experiences throughout their day, including language activities, math, art, music, and more. The registration process has already begun for Fall ’09. Busing for children in the Ramapo Central and East Ramapo school districts will be provided to the after school program.

Beginning September 1, the Center will provide care to children from 6 weeks of age through age 12.  In addition to providing full and part-time care and education to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, the Center will also offer after school and vacation care to school age children.

RCC students who enroll their children may qualify for scholarships and subsidies for child care tuition, making it very affordable.

In addition to providing care and education to young children, the Center will provide an opportunity for education students, psychology students and others to gain experience and understanding in working with young children.

The new state-of-the art facility is named in memory of Theresa Morahan Simmons, a local early childhood educator and daughter of Senator Thomas P. Morahan.

Rockland Community College, a unit of the State University of New York, is located 25 miles northwest of NYC. The majority of its students transfer to four-year colleges, and many find immediate employment upon earning their associate's degree or certificate. The College also offers others, from preschoolers to senior citizens, the opportunity to simply learn something new. Quality education...at a price you can afford.
