Three New Associate’s Degrees in Education

Three New Associate’s Degrees in Education Now Offered
at SUNY Rockland Community College

Fall ’10 Semester begins Wednesday, September 1

Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College now offers three new Associate in Arts Liberal Arts and Sciences degrees: Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education and Adolescence Education—all as Teacher Education Transfer programs.

These programs prepare students for transfer into four-year colleges to complete their baccalaureate degree and teacher certification requirements. Scholarships to continue studies in Education are available to students who excel at RCC.

Graduates from any of the three new education programs can continue their education at RCC by pursuing a bachelor’s in Liberal Studies from Purchase College while taking the majority of their classes on RCC’s Suffern campus through the Purchase College at Rockland Community College program.  A Master’s degree can also be earned primarily on RCC’s campus in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education through a program co-sponsored by the College of New Rochelle (CNR). Taking classes on RCC’s campus enables students to receive a considerable discount over enrolling in the program at the New Rochelle campus.

For more information about the College of New Rochelle master's program at RCC, contact Louise Schreier, Coordinator of the co-sponsored program, at lschreie@sunyrockland.edu, 845-574-4482.
