The Public Is Invited To a Free Evening of Fun, Theater and Fabulous Desserts
at the Rockland Community College Foundation's First Annual Spotlight Awards
Suffern, NY - "Paparazzi," spotlights and a red carpet will welcome the public as they approach the SUNY Rockland Community College Cultural Arts Center.
"Shakespeare meets the Tony Awards" at the Foundation's first annual Spotlight Awards on November 17, 7 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Theater. The Foundation has provided more than $1.8 million in scholarships to RCC students. RCC's Rockland Shakespeare Company and Performing Arts Department will perform the satirical fast-paced play, "The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged)," and at unexpected moments, will incorporate the life story of a "Spotlight" awardee, bringing that person onto the stage and presenting them with their award. From beginning to end, the night will be filled with humor, camp and the opportunity to honor graduates who went on to make RCC proud. "Futures Are Built on Our Foundation" is the Rockland Community College Foundation motto. As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, the Foundation created this event to honor alumni who became exceptional individuals and demonstrate the College’s tag line, "Start Here…Go Anywhere!"
