Every day, children throughout the world face considerable hardships. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the world’s most recognized and legally-binding human rights treaty, was drafted with the specific purpose of safeguarding and advancing the rights of all children. The 193 countries that have ratified the CRC have used this document to guide the development and implementation of policies and programs that best address and fulfill children’s needs. Somalia and the U.S. are the only two countries that have not ratified this celebrated document.
