Substance Abuse Prevention and Needs of Adult Learners Discussed
at SUNY Rockland Community College

 

Suffern, NY - The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) presents the first of its Spring '09 lecture series at SUNY Rockland Community College. Admission is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

 

Tuesday February 3

Substance Abuse Prevention
Marc Giammarco, Substance Abuse Counselor, and Ms. Ruth A. Bowles, Executive Director of the Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence (RCADD).

Needs of Adult Learners
Terri Kaye Needle, Counselor Professor, SUNY Rockland Student Development Services
Coordinator of Services to Adult Returning Students (S.T.A.R.S.), Needle will discuss the unique needs and special interests of adults 25 and older returning to school. Through individual appointments, pre-enrollment sessions, and a series of workshops, S.T.A.R.S. addresses the academic, personal and career development issues of returning adult students.
