for Pre-School Children

Suffern, NY - The Rockland Community College (RCC) Teachers of Tomorrow Club and Teacher Preparation students held a "Welcome Winter" festival on December 15 for the preschool children from the Fun and Learn Child Development Center at RCC. The children enjoyed arts & crafts, storytelling, pizza and ice-cream.

The Fun and Learn Child Development Center is open to the general public and provides care to children from six weeks of age through 12 years.  The Center also provides an opportunity for RCC Teacher Preparation students, psychology students and others to gain experience and understanding in working with young children.

The Center is open year round from the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing only for major holidays. Children are involved in a variety of experiences throughout their day, including language activities, nature, science, cooking, literacy, art, music and more.

In addition to providing full and part-time care and education to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, the Center offers before and after school and half-day and vacation care to school age children.  Busing to the before and after school program is provided by East Ramapo and Ramapo Central School districts.

RCC students who enroll their children may qualify for scholarships and subsidies for child care tuition, making it very affordable.
