Suffern, NY - As part of its 50th Anniversary Celebration, Rockland Community College will host the conference, "Celebrating Scholarship: Students and Faculty as Colleagues in Learning."

Conference for Students and Faculty at Two- and Four-Year Colleges
Technology Center, first floor lobby
Registration: $40 includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon reception.
Forty-six students and 11 faculty members from RCC and area two- and four-year colleges will present their research in panel and poster sessions on subjects across academic disciplines including health and science, the arts, social justice and cultural awareness.
Dr. Alan Mandell, Professor of Adult Learning and Mentoring at SUNY Empire State College, will deliver the keynote address, "Learning Together: Mentoring and Scholarship and Wondering What We Know." Since 1972, Mandell served as administrator, mentor in the social sciences, and Director of the Mentoring Institute at SUNY Empire State College. He is the editor of the journal, All About Mentoring, and, with Elana Michelson, has co-authored "Portfolio Development and the Assessment of Prior Learning" (2nd edition, Stylus, 2004).
