Soap Opera Star Lawrence Saint-Victor Returned To SUNY Rockland Community College With Other Successful Alumni To Receive a Spotlight Award
Suffern, NY - The Rockland Community College Foundation's first Spotlight Awards Ceremony honored a judge, television newscaster, chief of police, theater artistic director, health care administrator, and "Guiding Light" soap opera star.
"Paparazzi," spotlights and a red carpet welcomed the public as they approached the Cultural Arts Center on November 17 in celebration of the Foundation’s 25th Anniversary. RCC’s Rockland Shakespeare Company and Performing Arts Department performed the satirical fast-paced play, "The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged)," and at unexpected moments, incorporated the life story of a "Spotlight" award winner, bringing that person onto the stage.
The Foundation has provided more than $1.8 million in scholarships to RCC students. "Futures Are Built on Our Foundation" is the College Foundation motto. As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, the Foundation created this event to honor alumni who became exceptional individuals and demonstrate the College’s tag line, "Start Here…Go Anywhere!"
Spotlight Award Winners:
Victor J. Alfieri Jr. ‘72, Rockland County Court Judge
Jonathan Colton ‘90, Executive Vice-President, Homecare Partners, Inc.
