Rockland Community College’s 48th Commencement Exercises

 

Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College will commemorate its 48th commencement on Sunday, May 31, at 1:00 p.m. in the Fieldhouse, 145 College Road, Suffern.

 

The College will celebrate the graduation of almost 1,000 students who completed their requirements in Summer '08, Winter'08 or Spring '09.

 

Local dignitaries, college faculty and officials, and family and friends of the graduates will be in attendance. The audience will be addressed by alumna Kerrin Mahaffey ’79, Managing Director, Consumer Healthcare, Wyeth, and Casim Noble, a May ‘09 graduate.

Kerrin Mahaffey ‘79, Wyeth, Site Managing Director, Consumer Healthcare

Kerrin Mahaffey of Hillburn is responsible for the manufacturing and packaging of more than four billion tablets and 44 million packages of the CENTRUMÒ family of products at the Pearl River, New York, facility.  Mahaffey currently serves on the Board of the Rockland Community College Foundation and the United Way of Rockland County. She holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Communications from Iona College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business from St. Thomas Aquinas College and an associate’s degree from Rockland Community College.

 

STUDENT SPEAKER

Casim Noble, Orange County, A.A.S.Paralegal Studies, May ‘09

Casim Noble was born and raised in Harlem, NY, and is the first in his immediate family to earn a college degree. He attended Martin Luther King High School in midtown Manhattan . Noble plans to continue his education at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies. He is married to Samantha and has a son, Jason.
