Suffern, NY - A gathering at Rockland Community College is designed to help parents, educators and students achieve academic success. The CEJJES Institute will host the 3rd Annual Supplementary Education Summit on Saturday, October 24.

Keynote Presenter: Chancellor Meryl Tisch, New York State Education Department

The summit encourages family and community involvement in the personal development of children, and supports schools as they take primary responsibility for the academic development of children.
All students (7th grade and up) will participate in the workshops including, "Tips for Making Smart College and Career Choices." Young women will attend, "Building Self Esteem, Independence and Professionalism," while young men will attend, "From Boys to Men: The Real Deal." Parents/guardians and educators will learn about the how the college process needs to begin now and how to pay for a child’s education.
Keynote speaker is Chancellor Meryl Tisch, New York State Education Department. The panel discussion to follow will be moderated by Dr. Edmund W. Gordon, Scholar-In-Residence, RCC Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). Panelists include Chancellor Meryl Tisch; Dr. Cliff L. Wood, RCC President; Dr. Ira Oustatcher, East Ramapo Superintendent and Dr. Valencia Douglas, Nyack Schools Superintendent.
