RCC-TV Announces Winners of High School and College Video Competition

SUNY Rockland student, Corey Machado of Sloatsburg, wins the grand prize, a trophy and a 32” Sharp Aquos LCD HD-TV, for his short film, "Do Not Disturb," at the 2009 RCC-TV Video Festival held at Rockland Community College on April 23.

RCC-TV Announces Winners of High School and College Video Competition
at Rockland Community College


Media professionals served as judges


Suffern, NY - Media professionals judged student-produced videos at SUNY Rockland Community College’s second annual RCC-TV Video Festival.


RCC-TV and the Performing Arts Department co-produced the event on April 23. Videos were produced by RCC and Suffern, Nyack, BOCES, Clarkstown South and Ramapo High School students and ranged from 60 sec. - 12 min.


Prizes were awarded in each category for RCC students, who competed for the grand prize, a 32” Sharp Aquos LCD HD-TV. High school students completed against each other with the top school receiving a trophy and the student winners receiving Apple gift cards.

Best RCC Overall:   Corey Machado, "Do Not Disturb"

Best Music Video:  Darian Van Dunk, "Paper Cut"

Best PSA (Public Service Announcement):  Harrison Rego, "Until I Had None"

Best Comedy: Tony Milio, "The Womanizer"

Best News Segment:  Daniel Thorn, “Storm King Adventure Tours—Days of Fun on the Hudson”

Best Commercial: Zamir Ben-Dan, "Join The RCC Debate Team"

Best Documentary: Ashish Amin, "Meet the Pharmacy"

Best Animation: Pedro Julio Carpio Bonilla, "Aesthesis: Mysteries of the Mind"

Best Short Film:  Corey Machado, "Do Not Disturb"


Best High School Video:

Nyack High School, Short Film: "3:45", Charles Caster Dudzick  


RCC-TV will air all winners of each category.


The 3rd Annual RCC-TV Video Festival will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in the Cultural Arts Theater, main campus in Suffern, at 7:00 p.m.


The judges were former SUNY Rockland students now working in the media industry plus a recent graduate who worked on RCC-TV.
