Director of Public Safety to Address the SUNY Rockland Community College Student Government Associationon on New Emergency Notification System
System will include siren, speaker systems and strobe lights
Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland’s Director of Public Safety will address the first session of the Student Government Association on the implementation of the new Emergency Notification System.
William Murphy, Director of Public Safety, will present the phases of the new system installation which will include an outdoor siren and speaker system covering all outdoor areas, including ball fields and parking lots; an indoor series of speakers and strobe lights throughout all building floors and subfloors; and text messaging, e-mails, and phone messages. The cost of this new Emergency Notification System is approximately $200,000.
In the audience with the student leaders will be Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee and State Senator Thomas Morahan, both of whom, along with Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski Jr., helped secure the funding for this project.
