Nursing Grads Can Earn B.
SUNY Rockland Community College and Chamberlain College of Nursing LLC
Sign Articulation Agreement
RCC Nursing graduates can earn a B.S. in Nursing online
Suffern, NY– SUNY Rockland Community College and Chamberlain College of Nursing have signed an articulation agreement that allows students who graduate from Rockland with an associate’s degree in Nursing to complete a Bachelor of Science degree online in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing.
Graduates and employees of RCC who enroll in and attend the Chamberlain RN or BSN online program will be charged tuition at 90% of the then-prevailing tuition rate applicable to the RN to BSN online programs. Transferring students will begin at Chamberlain College of Nursing with junior status. Chamberlain requires that a minimum of 32 hours of required course credit hours in the baccalaureate curriculum be completed at Chamberlain in order to graduate.
The agreement was signed by Susan Growenwald, President, Chamberlain College of Nursing LLC and Dr. Cliff L. Wood, President of SUNY Rockland. The agreement will enable qualified students to pursue their educational goals with a smooth transition from a two-year college to a four-year college, according to representatives from both schools.
SUNY Rockland has articulation agreements with dozens of colleges. Transfer agreements were signed recently with Mount Saint Mary College of Newburgh, Kaplan University in Iowa, University of Phoenix, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Stonybrook and Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry. Rockland also has transfer agreements with Cornell University, NYU, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Pace University, Dominican College, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Ramapo College and many more.
“Rockland Community College aims to keep all of our courses and programs up-to-date to meet the demands of four-year institutions,” said Bill Baker, VP for Academic Affairs. "The integrity of course work at SUNY Rockland is widely respected.”
Most degrees from Rockland require about 66 credits. In some cases, students go on to earn additional credits, which are sometimes accepted by four-year institutions. For example, a recent science honors graduate transferred to Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, which accepted all 96 credits he had earned at Rockland.
