New Student Trustee

Ramapo, NY— Honors student Ali Raza Rizvi ’11 of Tappan was elected by his fellow students to be the Student Representative to Rockland Community College’s Board of Trustees for the 2010-2011 academic year. He will take office on June 1.

In addition to his honors coursework, Rizvi works two part-time jobs, one as a tutor in the College’s Writing Center and the other at Dunkin Donuts in Orangeburg. A graduate of Tappan Zee High School, Rizvi has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was the recipient of the Scout Speaker Award (2005).

At the College, Rizvi is a member of the business honor society, Alpha Beta Gamma, and the Economics, Chess, Biology, Desi, and Islamic Clubs. He writes for the student newspaper, Outlook, and plays for the Men’s Tennis Team.
