New Student Club Acts as “Think Tank” at SUNY Rockland

Suffern, NY— The SUNY Rockland Community College Momentum Club is a student-led collegiate think tank designed to encourage the exchange of ideas on issues of special interest to the student members.
The Momentum Club will hold its next event, "Roc the Vote,” a voter registration drive, on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, 12:30 p.m. at Rockland Community College, behind the Technology Center, 145 College Road, Suffern. Posters will describe the four presidential candidates' position on specific issues (Ralph Nader, John McCain, Hilary Clinton, and Barack Obama). The event is a collaboration between the Momentum Club and the Pol.Sci/Pre-Law Association.
The Momentum Club meets every Wednesday in the Academic II building, Room 2306, Rockland Community College, 145 College Rd., Suffern, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Issues examined include the education of felons, Phenomenological Research, Motivational Speaking, Student Retention, Staffing Patterns, Co-teaching, Male vs. Female Matriculation, Informative Brochures, Voter Registration Drives, and Self-Actualization coaching.
Dr. Joe Pirone Professor, Psychology, is the Club advisor. Dr. Edmund W. Gordon, Scholar-in-Residence, acts as co-advisor for the Phenomenological Research area of the club.
