New Faculty Member Appointed to Tenure –Track Full-Time Position

New Faculty Member Appointed to Tenure –Track Full-Time Position at SUNY Rockland Community College

 

Suffern, NY—Ms. Nancy Pietroforte has joined the tenure-track full-time faculty at SUNY Rockland Community College beginning the Spring '08 semester.

 

Ms. Nancy Pietroforte, Instructor, Sociology, was born and educated in the NYC metropolitan area and has taught sociology in NY, NJ, MA, and OK. Most recently (2002 – 2007) Pietroforte was Professor of Sociology at Oklahoma City Community College, OK, where she also served on the Board of the local Planned Parenthood affiliate. Prior to her position in Oklahoma, she taught Sociology at Dowling College, Oakdale, NY; Somerset and Jersey City, NJ (1/02-8/02).

 

Pietroforte's areas of sociological interest include gender, social class, and labor/labor unions. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at the College of New Rochelle. While earning her Master’s degree in Sociology at Queens College, she was a recipient of a fellowship from the Center for Women in Government (Albany, NY). She recently received a scholarship to complete a PhD at New School University in New York City.
