New Director of Financial Aid Appointed

Suffern, NY - Rockland Community College appointed Ms. Debra Bouabidi as the new Director of Financial Aid.

Bouabidi will be responsible for the planning and administration of all financial assistance programs, including overseeing staff in implementing, awarding, and monitoring federal, state, and College financial aid programs.

A resident of Rutherford, NJ, Bouabidi has more than 20 years experience in effectively administering all aid programs at a two-year, degree-granting college, where annual receipts averaged $38 million. She has also managed a multicultural, multilingual staff of seven managers and 25 collective bargaining, financial advisors and support staff. She managed compliance with federal aid standards at three colleges and analyzed student default data, creating an aggressive college-wide default prevention plan.

Bouabidi received her Master of Arts in Education at the University of Northern Iowa and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Central College in Iowa.
