More Than $200,000 in Scholarships to be Awarded
at SUNY Rockland Community College’s Scholarship Awards Ceremony
Suffern, NY - More than 100 outstanding continuing and graduating students will receive scholarships at SUNY Rockland's Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Theater.
Scholarships range from a two year full tuition scholarship to Pace University (valued at $80,000) and SUNY Rockland ($3,200 value) to smaller awards of several hundred dollars. Students are recognized for excellence in academics, program of study, athletics, and service to community.
Scholarships being offered for the first time are:
Bernice F. Plummer Memorial Shakespeare Scholarship
Caitlin Hammeran Occupational Therapy Assistant Scholarship
Humanities Transfer Scholarship
John May Memorial Scholarship
Rockland Tennis Club/Larry Roder Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded by the Rockland Community College Foundation as well as by private donors, foundations, organizations and corporations.
The event will also feature musical selections from students in the College’s Performing Arts Department. The student speaker will be the winner of the John O’Connor Speech Award. A reception for family and friends of the honorees follows the event.
