Last January, he was the first coach inducted into RCC's Sports Hall of Fame, and in 2007, the RCC Foundation honored him for his service to the College and for establishing the Heinz Ahlmeyer USMC Scholarship and the Jerry Donnellen Veterans Scholarship.
In 1995, Famellette was a member of Team USA and competed in the world biathlon championships in Mexico, and in 2009, he and his racquetball partner won fourth place in the National Senior Olympics.
Famellette is a Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of Orange County Community College, where he was Athlete of the Year. He earned his BS and MS in Physical Education from Springfield College. He and his wife, Judy, have four children, all of whom have attended RCC, and six grandchildren.

Rockland Community College, a unit of the State University of New York, is located 25 miles northwest of NYC. The majority of its students transfer to four-year colleges, and many find immediate employment upon earning their associate's degree or certificate. The College also offers others, from preschoolers to senior citizens, the opportunity to simply learn something new. Quality education...at a price you can afford.
