Internships Available to Any College Student Who Meets Prerequisites And Registers
Through SUNY Rockland Community College
Still Time to Register for This Fall Semester
Suffern, NY - Any qualified student, regardless of home college, can register for credits at SUNY Rockland Community College to earn hands-on experience through the Internship Program. Students can register up through the 12th week of each semester.
More than 500 students per year earn significant work experience in corporations, media outlets, health care facilities, non-profit organizations and government agencies including: Fitness Magazine, CNBC, RAB Lighting, Cablevision, The Rockland Journal News, Morgan Stanley, Good Samaritan Hospital, UBS Financial Services, Union State Bank, Rockland County Public Defender’s Office and many more.
In order to prove eligibility for an internship, a student needs to meet the internship program's prerequisites and adhere to the internship program guidelines and regulations. All interested students are encouraged to apply for an internship in their chosen field.
Internships are done for credit and students can choose internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields, including business, computers, communications, publishing, psychology, sociology, the humanities, law, and government. Students are placed according to their interests and capabilities, and all efforts are made to place students in the company of their choice. Once accepted into the program, students will be assigned a faculty mentor who will work with them throughout the semester and be responsible for monitoring their progress, advising them on any questions or concerns they may have, and assigning them a grade at the completion of the internship.
RCC students, as well as students from other colleges, may submit applications online. Students from colleges other than RCC are advised to check with their home college to ensure that internship credits will be accepted. Businesses looking for student workers are also invited to apply to the program.
