Suffern, NY - The Center for Jewish Life at SUNY Rockland Community College invites the public to Holocaust Commemoration events.

Monday, April 12, 7:30 p.m., Cultural Arts Theater

Holocaust Commemoration Film, "As Seen Through These Eyes," (2009, 70 min.) by Hilary Helstein, narrated by Maya Angelou. Prisoners in concentration camps create art and music to survive. Co-sponsored by the JCC Film Festival. For tickets, contact the JCC at (845) 362-4400 x 175. Kosher refreshments served.

 

Tuesday, April 13, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Faculty Staff Dining Room, Cultural Arts Center

 

Lecture, "A Child Survivor of Auschwitz Shares Her Story," by Bronia Brandman. Admission: Free and open to the public. Kosher refreshments served.

 

Thursday, April 15, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Student Union, Rm. 3214

Musical presentation, "The Undying Flame: Ballads of the Holocaust," by Jerry Silverman. Songs in multiple languages of despair, hope, rage, resistance and humor in the face of unspeakable horror. Admission: Free and open to the public. Kosher refreshments served
