Lecture: "U.S.A.: The Haitian Legacy"

Dr. Jean A. Francois, Haitian Scholar-in-Residence, will share scholarly perspectives on the Haitian experience in the U.S. Francois is an Associate Professor of French at York College/CUNY and is a widely published author, playwright and poet. Francois earned a Ph.D. in French at the Graduate Center, CUNY, a Master of Arts in French literature at Hunter College, CUNY, and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at the Institut Supérieur technique d’Haiti.

Rockland County high school students are invited to visit the campus, attend college classes and learn about Haitian culture and college life. The celebration includes a presentation by a prominent member of the Haitian community.
