Governor Appoints Mary Lou Dillon to Rockland Community College Board of Trustees
Suffern, NY - Mary Lou Dillon of Nyack was appointed by Governor David Paterson to serve on the SUNY Rockland Community College Board of Trustees for the term beginning July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2015.
Ms. Dillon said, “I am honored by Governor Patterson's appointment and look forward to being part of the team that is restoring RCC to being the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Rockland County.”
A former social studies teacher at North Rockland High School (1971-2003), Ms. Dillon is currently a facilitator for a Learning Collaborative with Long Island University. She has also been Master Teacher for Bio-ethics Instruction at Georgetown University, an Item Writer for the U.S. History and Government Regents, and Lenten Instructor in Bioethics at St. Ann’s Church.
Ms. Dillon formerly served as Habitat for Humanity of Rockland board member, secretary and Volunteer Coordinator. Other volunteer experiences include: Eucharistic Minister, St. Ann’s Church (includes church and hospital ministries) and Rape Crisis Counselor for Rockland Family Shelter.
Ms. Dillon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Ashland College, Ashland, Ohio and a Master of Arts degree in History from New York University.
