Ramapo, NY - The Rockland Community College Center for Personal & Professional Development offers continuing education courses to prepare workers for the emerging green economy. The College also offers an A.S. degree in Environmental Sciences.
The Center for Personal & Professional Development has launched a series of Environmental Sustainability classes designed to assist students in navigating career transitions and prepare for the job search process. Classes range from Mathematics for a Technical Career to Basic Electrical Theory and Solar Hot Water System Design. Some courses, such as Introduction to Photovoltaics (PV) are recognized by NABCEP and other classes such as IGSHPA Accredited Installer class provides NATE Certification.
Rockland Community College has a long history of commitment to environmental conservation. Lorinda Hill, Assistant to the Director of Plant Facilities, started the recycling program at the College in response to the Rockland County Health Department passage of Article 17 to address recycling issues. The College continues to move forward with its commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation.
Richard Syrek, Dean of the Center for Personal & Professional Development, is continually looking to expand the non-credit program to include additional classes to address community needs.
