Entrepreneurial Business Plan Competition at SUNY Rockland Community College
High School and College Students--Apply by Friday, October 31
Suffern, NY - Area high school and college students are invited to present their entrepreneurial ideas to a one of a kind business plan competition to be held at SUNY Rockland Community College in December.
The competition is designed to give students the opportunity to experience planning an entrepreneurship in both written and oral presentation formats. The schools will establish teams who will develop a business plan and PowerPoint presentation for a business that the team believes would be successful in Rockland County.
The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Rockland County Chapter, and the Rockland Community College Business Department will co-host a competition for area high school and college students, in two separate categories, on Friday, December 5, on the main campus in Suffern.
Each winning team will get the grand prize, $1,000, funded by the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants, Rockland Chapter.
Judges will base their decisions upon a prescribed set of criteria as outlined in the New York State Small Business Development Center, “A Practical Guide to Preparing Your Business Plan.” Judges may be members of the college and the business community. The event will end with a special guest speaker, presentation of awards, and lunch.
Guidelines:
Eligibility: Area college students and high school students.
A maximum of two teams with three presenters each, one alternate, and one school official for each team.
Teams will follow the New York State Small Business Development Center, “A Practical Guide to Preparing Your Business Plan.”
