SUNY Rockland English Professor Authors New Book
Ramapo, NY - Ian Blake Newhem, Associate Professor of English at Rockland Community College, has co-authored the book, "Dream So Big: A Parents' Guide to Helping Your Child Believe & Achieve," with Christopher B. Pearman and his daughter, actress Raven-Symoné, star of Disney Channel's "That’s So Raven."
"Dream So Big," published by Adams Media on May 18, 2010, is endorsed by comedian Bill Cosby and has been favorably reviewed in Publisher's Weekly.
Newhem of Mountain Dale, New York, teaches literature, composition and journalism in the Sam Draper Mentor /Talented Students Honors Program at the College, where he has also served as Chair of the English Department and the Humanities, Behavioral and Social Sciences Division. He is co-author and editor, under the name Ian Blake Newman, of “The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle” series (2007, 2008: Penquin-Perigree), as well as “Managing the College Newsroom” (2003: Associated Collegiate Press), which is used at more than 700 colleges and universities. He has published more than 100 articles, stories, and essays in regional and national newspapers and magazines and does business writing for Fortune 500 companies in the health, education, banking, construction and real estate industries.
