Earn a Degree on the Weekends This Fall

Get a Head Start This Summer

Suffern, NY - In an effort to meet the needs of the community, this fall Rockland Community College is expanding its weekend programs to include not only Business and Paralegal, but also Liberal Arts and Nursing. Programs can be completed with any combination of daytime, evening, online, blended (online and on-campus) and weekend courses.

While Rockland isn't currently offering summer weekend courses, students may get a head start on their degree or certificate by taking a number of business, paralegal, or liberal arts courses during the weekday and evening summer schedule. Summer Session I begins May 29, Summer Session II begins June 4, and Summer Session III begins July 2.

"Students can complete an associate's degree on weekends in just two years," said Bruce Delfini, Coordinator of Evening/Weekend Studies. The Paralegal certificate can be completed even more quickly, because it is not a degree. Note: Nursing students will still need to take a Thursday class to complement the weekend Nursing Process courses. Also, in order to earn the associate's degree program in two years, students must meet the College's competency in English and math.

RCC partners with Dominican College to offer students the opportunity to earn the weekend Business Degree followed by a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Many of the credits associated with this degree may also transfer to other four-year colleges in the region.

For more information, contact Bruce Delfini, Coordinator of Evening/ Weekend Studies at (845) 574-4789 or bdelfini@sunyrockland.edu

To learn more about Nursing, contact Mary Leighton, Assistant Placement Coordinator, Nursing Program, at 845-574-4474 or mleighto@sunyrockland.edu.

Rockland Community College, a unit of the State University of New York, is located 25 miles northwest of NYC. The majority of its students transfer to four-year colleges, and many find immediate employment upon earning their associate's degree or certificate. The College also offers others, from preschoolers to senior citizens, the opportunity to simply learn something new. Quality education...at a price you can afford.
