Director of Public Safety Presents New Emergency Notification System to Student Government Leaders
and Elected Officials at SUNY Rockland Community College
System will include siren, speaker systems and strobe lights
Suffern, NY - Leaders of the student government, as well as elected officials, learned about the new Emergency Notification System at SUNY Rockland Community College.
On September 4, William Murphy, Director of Public Safety, presented the phases of the new system installation which will include an outdoor siren and speaker system covering all outdoor areas, including ball fields and parking lots; an indoor series of speakers and strobe lights throughout all building floors and subfloors; and text messaging, e-mails, and phone messages.
The cost of this new Emergency Notification System is approximately $200,000. State Senator Thomas P. Morahan, Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee, and Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski helped secure the funding for this project and were in attendance at the presentation.
