Courses for Writers and Illustrators Offered at College

Courses for Writers and Illustrators Offered
at SUNY Rockland Community College

 

Suffern, NY - Writers and illustrators can learn journalism or mystery writing online through SUNY Rockland Community College, or they can come on campus for courses like Illustration & Cartooning, Playwriting and Getting Published.

 

Instructors include several professionals in the book and media industry like author/illustrator Elizabeth Sayles whose illustration credits include the bestselling book, "I Already Know I Love You," written by Billy Crystal. Sayles is also the author of the children’s book, "The Goldfish Yawned," published by Henry Holt in 2005. In Spring ’09, Sayles will be teaching:

Illustration & Cartooning (Art 215)

Wednesdays, 3-5:40 p.m.

First class: January 28

This summer, Sayles will be teaching a Portfolio Development Workshop for high school students, college students and others.

 

Online and credit-bearing courses are offered in the Spring 2009 semester, which runs from January 24 - May 15 (registration deadline: January 30). People can take credit courses even if they don't want or need credit. Tuition for credit courses for New York State residents is $137 per credit.
