Begun in 1982, the Foundation has become an integral part of the College, helping to provide financial support where tax dollars and tuition dollars may not be applied. Among its many philanthropic programs, the Foundation has:
- Provided more than $1.8 million in scholarships. RCC students have entered on Foundation scholarships and have transferred to four year institutions with Foundation scholarships.
- Provided initial funding for the design ($75,000.00) of the Campus Fun & Learn Center, enabling parents to attend classes while having their children nearby in a quality, affordable pre-school.
- Worked closely with the President, raising funds for the Student Support Fund (previously STRIDE), enabling the college to provide additional mentoring and tutoring funds for students.
###
Rockland Community College, a unit of the State University of New York, is located 25 miles northwest of NYC. The majority of its students transfer to four-year colleges, and many find immediate employment upon earning their associate's degree or certificate. The College also offers others, from preschoolers to senior citizens, the opportunity to simply learn something new. Quality education...at a price you can afford.
