College Sponsors County-wide Food Drive at Seven Supermarkets

at Seven Supermarkets
Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College volunteers will collect food from supermarkets across the county in their annual Food Drive.
The county-wide Food Drive will take place at Rockland grocery stores on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All collected non-perishable foods will be donated to People to People of Nanuet, a charity that provides much needed food, especially around the holidays, to the people of Rockland.
Students, administrators, and faculty will distribute flyers to shoppers describing what types of food are suitable to donate. Each of the following stores has granted permission to the College to conduct the food drive on their premises:
- Stop & Shop—Mount Ivy
- Pathmark—Nanuet
- Shop Rite—Garnerville
- Shop Rite—Tallman
- DeCicco Marketplace—New City
- Stop & Shop—West Nyack
- A&P—Valley Cottage
Items suitable for donation to the food drive include packaged non-perishables such as: peanut butter, jelly, tuna, Parmalat milk, sugar, rice, canned beef stew, juice, hearty soups, cold cereal, oatmeal and coffee.
