SUNY Rockland Community College Holds Open House for Paralegal Program
Suffern, NY - SUNY Rockland Community College’s Paralegal program will be holding an Open House on Thursday, August 21, 5 – 7 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Student Union, Room 3214, 145 College Rd., Suffern.
At the Open House students can sign up for classes and learn details about the American Bar Association approved program, including internship and job opportunities. The program offers a post-degree certificate or an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. The paralegal instructors are attorneys and paralegals with experience in their fields.
"The US Department of Labor regularly ranks the paralegal field as one of the fastest growing in the nation," said Professor Deborah Vinecour, Esq., Coordinator of the Paralegal Program. There are as many varieties of paralegals as there are lawyers, she noted.
"SUNY Rockland offers a good generalized paralegal education. It’s a wonderful starting point for everyone," said Vinecour, who has been in the field for 16 years.
She and Professor/Counselor Kathy Carroll will be on hand at the Open House to assist prospective students.
