Broadway Hit Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet
Opening Night Will Raise Scholarship Funds
Suffern, NY - “Shakespeare's R&J," Joe Calarco’s Broadway hit adaptation of Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet,” will be presented at SUNY Rockland Community College.
The four-man play is set among the strict discipline of an old-time, Catholic private school, where four young men discover a copy of “Romeo and Juliet” and are quickly swept away and enmeshed in the emotion of the tale.
All proceeds from opening night will go toward a new Humanities Scholarship established by Libby Bay, a retired RCC English Professor. The scholarship is for RCC students who graduate with an AA degree in Liberal Arts: Humanities & Social Science, with a focus on humanities, and are transferring to a SUNY or CUNY four-year campus.
