on SUNY Rockland’s Campus
Suffern, NY - Sukey Molloy and her all new Circle Song Show! will be a featured multi-media concert event at the Annual Family Arts Festival, which will benefit the recently expanded Campus Fun & Learn Child Development Center, Inc. Opening late spring, the new state-of-the art Center will be available to area children ages six weeks to 12 years old.
The Annual Family Arts Festival includes entertainment for all ages and will take place on May 16, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., in the Cultural Arts Center Theater, Atrium and outside. Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for children, $30 for a package of four. Tickets available in advance or at the door.
Schedule of events:
11:00 – Noon: Sukey Molloy & the New Circle Song Show! is a multi media family concert event the whole family will enjoy! Children interact with colorful video animations, live award winning music, and stuffed puppet characters. Parents and children will enjoy moving, singing, and dancing right along with Sunny, Tick Tock, Little Flame, Maggie the Monkey, and Twinkle Little Star. Join Sukey Molloy & Friends for this all new multi-media concert, great for families with children ages one through six.
Noon – 2 p.m. Treasure hunt, balloon making, jazz band, and African drumming. Refreshments, face painting and art will be available for additional fees.
This year’s event will also celebrate the Center’s new facility, the Theresa Morahan Simmons Center for Children and Families, named in memory of Theresa Morahan Simmons, a local early childhood educator whose commitment to children, families, and education serves as an inspiration for RCC's teacher education and child care programs.
The event will include remarks by Senator Thomas P. Morahan, the father of Theresa Morahan Simmons, and Dr. Cliff L. Wood, President of Rockland Community College.
The Campus Fun & Learn Child Development Center program will include art, music, language activities, and more. The new facility accommodates full-and part-time childcare as well as an after-school program.
RCC students who enroll their children qualify for scholarships and subsidies for child care tuition, making it very affordable.
In addition to providing care and education to young children, the Center will provide an opportunity for education students, psychology students and others to gain experience and understanding in working with young children.
