"Abortion and Birth Control: Ignore Your Rights and They Will Go Away"
This lecture focuses on women and reproductive rights. The speaker, Mr. Bill Baird, successfully spearheaded legal strategy in three separate U.S. Supreme Court cases. One of those cases, Baird v. Eisenstadt, legalized birth control, protected privacy rights, and was cited in the landmark Lawrence v. Texas decision (2003). The mission of Bill Baird’s Pro-Choice League has been to educate the public about the history of the struggle for reproductive freedom and privacy rights as well as contemporary issues pertaining to individual freedom.
