Suffern, NY - The Rockland Community College Foundation Luncheon drew 470 people—the largest turnout ever--and raised $50,000 for student scholarships in celebration of RCC’s 50th Birthday.
On March 19 at the Hilton Pearl River, the 10th Annual Foundation Leadership Awards Luncheon celebrated the College’s 50th Anniversary with student entertainment, songs by alumni and a giant birthday cake, from which a student Marilyn Monroe impersonator sprang to sing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to College President, Dr. Cliff L. Wood.
Since its inception in 1982, the RCC Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to students for scholastic excellence and/or financial need. Last year, the Foundation awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships. The Foundation also assists and enhances the academic programs of the College.
